Extended Period of Failing Health Ends for Long Time Resident
Mrs. Eric Henderson, a well known Winterset resident for many years, died last Friday, June 3, at her home here following an extended illness. She was 60 years of age.
Mrs. Henderson was the former Ada Levicci Bedwell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas J. Bedwell. She was born in Warren county Oct. 31, 1888. She was married to Eric Henderson on Oct. 1, 1910. All their married life was spent in Winterset.
In early life Mrs. Henderson had united with the Methodist church at Pleasant Hill. At her marriage she transferred membership to the United Presbyterian church. She was a member of Crown Rebekah lodge and the Royal Neighbors.
She is survived by her husband; two sons, Mahlon Henderson of Winterset and Clyde Henderson of Los Angeles, Calif.; a daughter, Mrs. Fern Osborn of Des Moines; two brothers, Thomas L. Bedwell of Des Moines and Gerald A. Bedwell of Chattanooga, Tenn.; four sisters, Mrs. Lillie Randolph and Mrs. George Evans of Des Moines, and Mrs. Lizzie Simmerman, and Mrs. Fern Lucas of Indianola; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday from the Winterset United Presbyterian church, in charge of the pastor, the Rev. W. P. Gordon. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
