HOWARD DOUD, 73, DIED LAST WEEK

Funeral Services and Burial Held Saturday at Winterset

Howard Doud, member of a formerly prominent Winterset family, died Tuesday, Feb. 16 at his home in West Des Moines. He was 73 years of age.

Mr. Doud was born in Guthrie county, a son of W. S. and Mary Doud. His parents moved here when he was a small child, and he spent much of his life in Winterset. He graduated from the Winterset high school, and engaged in the clothing business until about 1920, when he moved to Des Moines. He had retired recently, after many years with major Des Moines men’s clothing stores.

As a young man, he was married to Isis Thompson of Winterset. Her death occurred last July.

He leaves one son, John Doud of West Des Moines; and a brother Hubert Doud of Victoria, Texas.

Funeral services were held Saturday from the Anderson home for funerals here, conducted by the Rev. Mr. Cooley and the Rev. Mr. Meine, both of West Des Moines. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
