MRS. ELMA GRANDFIELD, 85 DIES AT CRESTON

Former Macksburg Resident Dies at Home of Son There

(Macksburg--Special)

Mrs. Elma M. Grandfield, long-time resident of this community, died recently in Creston at the home of her son, Alvie Grandfield, at the age of 85 years.

Mrs. Grandfield was born near Booneville in 1864, the daughter of Thomas and Martha Logsdon. When she was 12 years old the family moved to a farm southwest of Macksburg.

As a young woman she was married to Joseph Grandfield. They were the parents of nine children, two of whom died in infancy. Her husband also preceded her in death.

Surviving children are Bert of Sedalia, Mo., Mrs. Myrtle Hunter of Bothel, Wash., Alvie of Creston, Gardia of Milwaukee, Wisc., Mrs. Lillian Garrett of Greeley, Colo., Oral of Los Angeles, and Lyle of Arcath, Calif.

Funeral services were held last Saturday at Creston and burial was made in the Moon cemetery near Macksburg.
