JAMES THOMAS OF MACKSBURG DIES

Grand River Township Man Stricken Suddenly at Age of 78 Years

James Thomas, life-long resident of Grand River township, died at his home just south of Macksburg on Monday, Oct. 24. He was 78 years old. He was stricken suddenly while working about his home.

Mr. Thomas was born in Grand River township May 25, 1871, the son of John and Polly Thomas. He was married to Eva Whitworth on May 25, 1904, and they were the parents of two children. Since 1914, he had lived on the farm south of Macksburg where his death occurred.

He had been a member of the Bethesda Baptist church at Macksburg since early in life.

Surviving are his wife; a son, Dale Thomas; a daughter, Mrs. Hazel Eivins; five grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held last Wednesday from the Macksburg Methodist church, and burial was made in the Moon cemetery.
