MRS. JULIA WILKINSON DIED LAST SUNDAY

Death Occurs at West Des Moines After Long Illness

Mrs. Julia M. Wilkinson, long time resident of Winterset, died at the nursing home in West Des Moines, Sunday, October 9th, after an illness of several months. Mrs. Wilkinson received a fractured hip, in a fall at her home, July 9th, and since that time had been in the Methodist hospital, receiving treatment until a few weeks ago, when she was taken to the nursing home.

The deceased, the former Julia Anne Martino, daughter of Franklin and Julia Martino, was born November 7, 1868, at Grinnell, Iowa. The family later moved to Madison county, and here she was married to Oscar Wilkinson, February 3, 1897. They were the parents of four children: Mrs. Pearl M. Sherard of Bell, Calif., a son Alvis E. Wilkinson, and a daughter Blanche Wilkinson of Winterset survive the mother. The husband and one son preceded her in death. She also leaves one sister Mrs. Mary L. Benson, ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

The Rev. Les Carlson, pastor of the Apostolic Faith church in Des Moines, and the Rev. Larry Morrison of Winterset, conducted her funeral services at 2 o'clock, Tuesday afternoon, at the Anderson home for funerals and burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
