LEON G. FORSYTH

Leon G. Forsyth, son of George T. and Lottie Grinnell Forsyth, was born February 14, 1894 near Griswold in Cass county. He passed away Monday, January 24, in Madison County Memorial hospital in Winterset after a brief illness.

Leon was married to Lillian Lischer on February 10, 1916, near Griswold. In 1938, they moved to the Madison county farm where they had made their home up to the present. Mr. and Mrs. Forsyth were the parents of four children; Lenore (Mrs. Grant Richardson) of Boxholm; Frank of Fullerton, California; Elva (Mrs. Ed Stroeber) of Dallas Center; and Wilbur of Winterset.

Survivors include his wife, four children, nine grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, three step grandchildren; one brother, Lester, of Walnut Valley, California; one sister, Mrs. Ernest Hansen, of Griswold.

He was preceded in death by one brother and his parents.

Last rites were held Wednesday, January 26, at 1:30 p.m. at Collins Funeral Home in Winterset. Rev. Donald F. Taylor, conducted the service. Music was provided by Mrs. Meredith Easter at the organ. Pall bearers were Darrell Dunbar, Meredith Adams, Merle Godown, Terry Summy, Lawrence Lienemann and Clarence McDonald.

Interment was in the Winterset Cemetery.
