MRS. CHARLES WOODS DIED TUESDAY NIGHT

Resident of This Community Since 1916; Was 71 Years of Age

Mrs. Charles Woods, a resident of this community since 1916, died at Clarinda Tuesday night at the age of 71 years.

Mrs. Woods was a native of Illinois, where she was born Nov. 28, 1877, at Buffalo. She was a daughter of the Rev. Albert and Hannah Beckhart, her father being a Methodist minister. During her early life the family lived in Kansas and at Red Oak and Atlantic, Ia.

She was married at Atlantic March 11, 1908 to Charles Woods. They came to Madison county in 1916, and for many years lived on a farm in Scott township. Later they lived just west of Winterset. Mr. Woods died in 1945.

Surviving are her daughter, Mrs. Otto Hendricks of Winterset; two grandchildren, and three brothers, Charles Beckhart of Draper, S. Dak., Clarence Beckhart of Omaha and George Beckhart of Sherwood, Ore.

Funeral services will be held this Saturday at 2:30 p.m. from the Richards Funeral home, in charge of the Rev. G. L. Hufstader, pastor of the Winterset Methodist church. Burial will be made in the Winterset cemetery.
