LORETTA COGHLAN, Ames

Loretta Lavon Coghlan, 49, of Ames died Feb. 18, 2007, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.

Funeral services were held today (Wednesday, Feb. 21) at Collins Oak Park Chapel in Winterset with Pastor Bobb Barrick officiating. Burial was at Winterset Cemetery.

Loretta Coghlan was born Jan. 28, 1958, in Iowa City to Edgar R. and Emily E. (Benge) Coghlan and grew up in Winterset, graduating from Winterset High School. Loretta moved away in the 1970s and had resided in Ames for the past 20 years. She had been a homemaker, cook and cashier.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Linda Still.

She is survived by two daughters, MacKenzie Schweiger and Katherine Coghlan, both of Ames; two sisters, Lana Baird and Rita Volz, both of Ames; and three grandchildren.
