LAST RITES HELD FOR BLANCHE COUCH

Mrs. Courtney Couch of Adel former Madison county resident, died at the Madison county Memorial hospital in Winterset, last Thursday morning, January 29th.

Mrs. Couch, who was 69 years of age, had been in poor health for a number of years and was brought to the Winterset hospital for treatment, January 8th.

She was the former Blanche Bell, daughter of Jasper Newton and Anna Louise Bell, pioneer residents of this county. She was born in a farm home near Winterset, March 29, 1883 and taught in the rural schools, prior to her marriage to Mr. Couch 45 years ago. Since then she has resided in Dallas county, where she was active in many Adel organizations as long as her health permitted.

Survivors include her husband, Courtney Couch and their son Chauncey, both of Adel. She also leaves a brother, Frank Bell of Winterset, and a sister, Mrs. Birdie Fox of Palo Alto, California.

Funeral services were held at the Adel Methodist church, Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock, and burial was in the Adel cemetery.
