Mrs. Eliza Brown Moved to Cut Knife, Saskatchewan in 1911
Mrs. Eliza A. Brown, former Madison county resident, died at her home in Cut Knife, Saskatchewan, Canada Saturday morning, April 2nd at the age of 85 years. She had been in failing health for several months.
Mrs. Brown, a daughter of Alfred and Mary Shaw Brown, was born in Iowa Jan. 22, 1864, and was married to Henry M. Brown Feb. 26, 1888. Her husband preceded her in death, dying in 1945.
The Browns moved from here to Canada in 1911, being pioneer settlers in that community. She was a member of the United church.
Mrs. Brown is survived by three sons, Evert of Cut Knife, and Claude and Elmo of Vancouver; three daughters, Mrs. R. E. Haymond, Mrs. L. Wolf and Mrs. E. Busch, all of Cut Knife; she also leaves a sister, Mrs. B. Krell of Omaha, and a brother, George Shaw of Winterset.
Funeral services were held at Cut Knife, and five grandsons served as pallbearers: Paul, Lloyd and Lorne Brown, Junior Busch, and Clyde Haymond.
