NANNIE L. YOUNG

Nannie L. Young, the daughter of Daniel and Rebecca Eyerly was born in Madison county, Iowa on August 22, 1866 and departed this life on February 18, 1957 after a long illness at the home of her daughter, Mrs. George Sawyers at the age of 90 years five months and 26 days.

Her entire life was spent in Madison county with the exception of three years in Adair county. In early girlhood she united with the Worthington Methodist church, late transferring her membership to the Webster Methodist church.

On December 21, 1892 she was married to Alfred S. Young and to this union were born three daughters, Mrs. Bert Black of Winterset; Mrs. George Sawyers of Winterset, and Mrs. Jerrie Moore of Macksburg.

Her husband and daughter, Mrs. Black preceded her in death, also one sister and two brothers.

She was a loyal and devoted wife and mother and leaves to mourn her loss, her two daughters, Mrs. George Sawyers and Mrs. Jerrie Moore, two grandchildren; three great grandchildren, also several nieces and nephews, a host of friends and relatives.

Funeral services were conducted on February 20, 1957 from the Richard Funeral Home by Rev. Earl Steryffeler, her pastor assisted by Rev. Charles Bellus of Oak grove and burial in the Wight cemetery.

Mrs. Nannie Young Dies at 90 Years

Webster Township Resident Had Lived 52 Years on Same Farm

Mrs. Nannie Young, member of a pioneer Madison county family, died Monday, Feb. 18, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. George Sawyer, in Webster township.

Mrs. Young was 90 years of age. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Eyerly, early settlers in this county. At her death, she had lived 52 years on the same farm.

Mrs. Young is survived by two daughters, Mrs. George Sawyer of Winterset and Mrs. Jerrie Moore of Macksburg; two grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held this Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the Richards Funeral home, conducted by the Rev. Earl Streyfeller, pastor of the Webster Methodist church. Burial will be made in the Wight cemetery.
