Funeral Services Were Held Tuesday, Conducted by Rev. Fisher
Mrs. Austin N. Woods of Winterset died here Saturday, Nov. 23, at the home of her son, Ward Woods. She was 71 years of age.
Mrs. Woods had spent her life on farms in Madison, Warren and Jasper counties. She was born in Union township of this county on Aug. 11, 1886. She was the former Eva Lena Alexander, daughter of Joseph and Mary Cox Alexander.
She was married to Austin N. Woods on Feb. 13, 1907. they were parents of six children, one daughter, Vera May, dying in 1921.
In early life she had united with the Jefferson E.U.B. church. Later she was a member of the Early Chapel church, and after moving to Winterset transferred her membership to the First Presbyterian church in this community.
She and her husband observed their Golden Wedding anniversary last Feb. 13
Surviving are her husband; five children, Ward Woods of Winterset, Albert Woods of Minburn, Nelson Woods of Waukee, Mrs. Harriet Garmon of Winterset and Mrs. Mary Smith of Earlham; 13 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Ada Schoen of Newburg, Ore.
Funeral services were held this Tuesday from the First Presbyterian church, conducted by the pastor, the Rev. George Def. Fisher. Burial was made in the Jefferson E.U.B. cemetery.
