Mary Ellen Cain, a former well-known resident of Winterset, died last Fri., Aug 17, 1990 at Santa Anita Convalescent Hospital in Arcadia, California. She was 91 years of age.
The daughter of Frank and Maria Campbell Ramsbottom, she was born November 26, 1898 at Holyoke, Colorado. She was married to Ed Cain on July 5, 1919 in Des Moines.
For many years she and her husband operated the Palace Garage, a Buick dealership, in Winterset. She moved to Pasadena, California in 1955.
She was a member of the Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband. Surviving are a son, Russell E. Cain of Pasadena; and a sister, Wilma Clayton of Thayer, Iowa.
Memorial graveside services are pending at the Winterset Cemetery. The body was cremated.
