KENNETH ADEL JOHNSTON

Kenneth “Jack” Johnston was born to Mabel and Oscar Johnston near Fargo, Oklahoma, on December 29, 1908, and passed away December 17, 1972 at Cathedral City, California, of a heart attack, at the age of 63 years, 11 months, and 18 days.

Kenneth attended schools in Adair and Madison counties. He conducted his own trucking business in Earlham for a number of years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Earlham. In 1953, he moved to Lynwood, California, where he was in the restaurant business, later moving to Cathedral City (in 1956) where he resided until his death. Kenneth was employed at the Thunderbird Country Club Estates near his home.

His father, Oscar, preceded him in death in September, 1968. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Mabel Johnston of Earlham; a sister, Mrs. Lela York, of Downey, California; and a sister, Mrs. Merritt Harris, of Earlham, other relatives, and a host of friends.

Services were held at the Evans Funeral Home in Earlham, on December 22, with burial in the Earlham Cemetery.
