Clarence Bernard Fegan, son of David and Ardie Fegan , was born in Amberson Valley, Pennsylvania on August 28, 1900 and passed away on November 18, 1972 at the age of 72 years, 2 months and 21 days.
His family lived in Pennsylvania until 1906 when they moved to Illinois. In 1917 they came to Iowa to live in the Penn Center neighborhood.
On March 8, 1939 he was united in marriage to Helen Bunnell Grewell. To this union was born one daughter, Jean of Des Moines.
In his youth and after his marriage, Bud engaged in farming and in 1947, the family moved to their present home and farm west of Earlham. His family, farming, and livestock were his greatest interests in life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Mable and a grandson, John Dwigans.
Surviving are his wife Helen; his daughter Jean; and two step-children, Betty Dwigans of Kansas City, Missouri, and Dean Grewell of Des Moines; 7 grandchildren; and one sister, Edna Thompson of Bussey, Iowa. He is also survived by 2 nieces, 4 nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Services were held at the Earlham United Methodist Church, November 20, with Rev. D. Ward Young officiating. Music was provided by Gretchen Brittain at the organ. Casket bearers were John Godby, Russell Ralston, Ed Lenaghan, B. G. Harris, Willard Rhine, Phillip Duff and Gale Higgins, Paul Mark and Frank Wengert ushered.
Interment was in the Earlham cemetery with Evans funeral home in charge of the arrangements.
