EDWARD KIRBY, Lorimor Resident Dies at 93

Funeral services for Edward Kirby, a long-time resident of the Lorimor community, were held Friday, Jan. 25, at 11:30, from the Watts-Soll Funeral Home in Lorimor.

Mr. Kirby died Jan. 22, 1974 at the Madison County Memorial Hospital. He was 93 years of age.

A son of Zechariah and Katherine Swickward Kirby, he was born April 25, 1880. He was married on May 1, 1907 to Stella Coziah, who died in 1952.

They moved from Red Oak to the Lorimor vicinity in 1914, and Mr. Kirby retired in 1954.

He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Elva Wheeler of Macksburg; a son Howard Kirby of near Murray; four grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, six brothers and six sisters.

Officiating at the funeral lasat Friday was the Rev. Walter Williams. Burial was in the Lorimor cemetery.
