Resident Near Patterson for Nearly 40 Years; Ill Since January
Albert W. Frey, a resident of Crawford township for nearly 40 years, died near Patterson at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Guy Fogler on Thursday, Dec. 15. He was 81 years of age, and had been ill for the last 11 months after suffering a severe stroke last January.
Mr. Frey was a son of Enoch and Mary Weiser Frey, and was born at Linesville, Pa., on Feb. 11, 1868. When he was but a few years old he came with his parents to Story county where he lived near Nevada for about 40 years. He was married to Luella Ulum of Nevada on Nov. 8, 1893. They moved to a farm near Patterson in 1910.
Mr. and Mrs. Frey were the parents of nine children, one son dying in infancy, and a daughter Mrs. Ray Vannatta, in 1935.
He is survived by his wife; the seven children, Homer Frey of St. Charles, Mrs. Fogler of Patterson, Arthur Frey of Park Ridge, Ill., Lester Frey of Winterset, Earl Frey of St. Charles, Harold Frey of Pleasantville, and Glen Frey of Cedar Rapids. He also leaves 17 grandchildren, five great grandchildren, a brother, James G. Frey of Winfield, Kan., and a sister, Mrs. Louis Allen of El Paso, Tex.
Funeral services were held Saturday from the Richards funeral home in charge of the Rev. Oren B. Hall of St. Charles. Burial was made in the cemetery at Nevada.
