FORMER RESIDENT DIES IN INDIANA

Frank Demott, a former resident of Madison county, died May 5 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Mary Wilson of Indianapolis, Ind., according to word received here this week.

Mr. Demott was 79 years of age. In addition to Mrs. Wilson, he leaves another daughter, Mrs. John Ford of Louisville, Ky.; a brother; three grandsons and one great grandchild. He was an uncle of Mrs. Otis Walker of Winterset.

NEEDHAM, May 5 – Frank Demott, age, 79, resident of Needham since 1913, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Mary Wilson in Indianapolis, at 3:10 o'clock Wednesday morning.

In failing health for several years, Mr. Demott went to the home of Mrs. Wilson three months ago. Five weeks ago, he fell and since that time he had rapidly failed.

Funeral services are to be held at the Vandivier funeral home Friday morning at 10 o'clock with burial following in the Second Mt. Pleasant cemetery.

Friends may call at the mortuary Thursday evening and Friday morning until time for the service. They are invited to attend the rites.

Born In Marion County

Mr. Demott was the son of William and Sarah Smithers Demott and was born in Juliette, Marion county, Aug. 30, 1869. After his marriage to Harriett Stockdale on March 4. 1897, they moved to Iowa, where they resided until coming to Needham. They were the parents of two daughters and one son.

Surviving with Mrs. Wilson is another daughter, Mrs. Sarah Ford, of Louisville, Ky.: one brother, Richard Demott, of Shelby county; three grandsons, Robert Henry, of Huntsville, Ala.; Jimmy and Denny Wilson, of Indianapolis; and one great-grandson. Dean Henry.

Mrs. Demott died March 25, 1944, and a son, Fred, was killed when he was ten years old.

Mr. Demott was a member of the Methodist church at Boggstown and a retired farmer.

Final rites were conducted Frank Demott, age 79, at the Vandivier funeral home Friday morning at 10 o'clock.

The Rev. Jack Wilkins, of Indianapolis, was in charge of the service and burial was in the Second Mt. Pleasant cemetery.

The casket was carried by John Lowe, Roy Stewart, Everett Anderson, Orville Fisher, Adonis Harrison and Ray Gill.

Mr. Demott died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Mary Wilson, at Indianapolis, Wednesday morning at 3:10 o'clock, where he had gone three months ago. He was a resident of the Needham community.

The survivors are two daughters, a brother, three grandsons and one great-grandson.
