FERN ARLENE BUTLER

Fern Arlene Butler, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Smith, was born April 13, 1920 in Ida Grove, Iowa. She passed away at Iowa Methodist Hospital, Tuesday morning, March 28, 1972.

In her early years her family moved to Earlham, Iowa. Here she had her schooling and met Charlie Jacobson whom she married April 25, 1936 at Memphis, Missouri. To this union two sons were born: Charles Leroy and James Lee.

Later in life she married Richard J. Butler and lived and worked in Des Moines. She was employed at Noah’s Cleaners until her health failed.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father.

Those surviving are her husband Richard J. Butler of Des Moines, her sons, Charles Leroy Jacobson of Des Moines, and James Lee Jacobson of De Soto; her former husband, Charles Jacobson of Earlham; her four sisters, Edith (missing information)..green of Dexter, Zona Hamilton of El Cajon, California, Ruby Greenwood of Cedar Falls, and Ma(missing information) Cronk of Shirland, Illinois. (Missing information) children and other relatives and friends.

Services were held at the Ev…Funeral Home in Earlham on …day, March 31, with Rev. D. W. Young officiating. Burial was at the Earlham cemetery.

Services were held at the Evans Funeral Home in Earlham on Friday, March 31, with Rev. D. Ward Young officiating. Burial was in the Earlham cemetery.
