Body of Former Resident Returned to Winterset for Burial
A. T. Missildine whose early life was spent in Madison county, died last Friday, Nov. 8, at Hampton after a brief illness. He was 78 years of age.
Mr. Missildine was born in Madison county Nov. 6, 1879, a son of Josiah and Amanda Missildine.
In 1913 he moved to a farm near Mason City, living thee until 1935 when he moved to Hampton.
He was married in 1907 to Lena Groth. They were parents of a son who died in infancy. The wife preceded him in death also, in 1933.
Surviving are a niece who was raised in his home, Mrs. Ruah Thomson of Winterset; a sister, Mrs. Laura Zollers of Buffalo, N. Y. and two brothers, Hugh Missildine of Hansell and Leland Missildine of Des Moines.
Funeral services were held Sunday at Hampton, after which the body was brought to Winterset where services were held Monday from Anderson’s home for funerals. The services here were conducted by the Rev. W. W. Steinmetz, pastor of the Winterset Methodist church. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
