Winterset Resident for Half Century Had Been Ill four Years
Mrs. Emma J. McKibbin, a resident of Winterset for half a century, died Thursday Feb. 21, at the home of her sister, Phoebe McDole. She was 79 years of age, and had been ill the past four years.
Mrs. McKibbin was the former Emma Jane McDole, daughter of Nathan and Martha McDole. She was born in Warren county June 15, 1877.
On Feb. 26, 1902, she was married to Joseph McKibbin at Winterset, where they established their home. Her husband died in 1932. She was also preceded in death by an infant child.
She is survived by one brother, James McDole of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., four sisters, Mrs. Cora Marley of Des Moines, Mrs. Alma Duff of Des Moines, Mrs. Harriet Olmsted of Des Moines and Phoebe McDole of Winterset.
Funeral services were held Saturday from the Richards Funeral home, conducted by the Rev. W. W. Steinmetz pastor of the Winterset Methodist church. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.

Lauderdale, Florida, Mrs. Amanda Ponx and Mr. and Mrs. Lee Oberkamper of Jefferson, Mrs. Everett Gilmore and Mary Alice of Woodward, Homer Smith of Hartford, Mr. and Mrs. William Duff, Mrs. Alma Duff, Mr. and Mrs. James Wilhite, Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Howell, Mrs. Cora Marley, Mrs. Hattie Olmsted and Miss Marie Hanny of Des Moines.
