JOE W. SEYBOLD COMMITS SUICIDE

Joe W. Seybold, aged resident of Douglas township, took his life at the home of his son, with whom he resided on Wednesday November 29th. Mr. Seybold, who was 81 years of age, had been despondent over his poor health. He retired to his room about 11:30 o'clock Wednesday and was found several hours later with his throat slashed.

Mr. Seybold was born in Park county, Indiana, June 13, 1852 and there he grew to manhood. He was married to Miss Saville Ann Shahan in 1879, and they were the parents of five sons. In 1881 the family came to Adams county and settled near Lenox. In 1902 they moved to St. Peter, Minnesota where they resided 24 years. A son George Seybold died in April 1916, Ray in August 1916 and Mrs. Seybold in September 1922. Loyd Seybold died in 1926 and since then he has resided with his son Walter.

Mr. Seybold was a member of the Presbyterian church. The deceased leaves his two sons, Walter of Winterset and Harley of Chicago, four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted Friday December first at the West Star Church by the Rev. A. R. Weed and burial was in Minnesota.
