MRS. ETTA LOEHR DIED WEDNESDAY

Had Been Patient More Than Seven Years at Memorial Hospital Here.

Mrs. Etta C. Loehr, a life-long resident of Madison county, died at Memorial hospital in Winterset Wednesday, Oct. 9 after years of failing health. She was 87 years of age.

Mrs. Loehr had been a patient at Memorial hospital in Winterset since July 19, 1950 having entered that institution as a patient shortly after it went into operation.

Mrs. Loehr was born in Madison County June 24, 1870, a daughter of John R. and Mary Ann Reed. As a young woman she taught school here. She was married Dec. 25, 1895 to Willard Loehr. Their married life was spent on a farm in Monroe township. Her husband’s death occurred in 1933, after which she moved into Winterset to make her home.

She was a member of the Methodist church, and was affiliated with the Rebekah lodge here.

Nearest surviving relatives are two nephews, Robert and Floyd Akin, and a niece, Mrs. Doris Reed Kale of Los Angeles, Calif.

Funeral services were held Saturday from the Anderson home for funerals in Winterset, conducted by the Rev. W. W. Steinmetz, pastor of the Winterset Methodist church. Burial was made in the Macksburg cemetery.
