MRS. LENNIE DEAN BURIED MONDAY

Winterset Woman died Last Thursday at Memorial Hospital

Mrs. Lennie J. Dean, a resident of Madison county the last 21 years, died Thursday, Oct 31, at Memorial hospital in Winterset, after an extended illness. She was 78 years of age.

Mrs. Dean was a native of Washington, Ia., where she was born Oct. 3, 1879, a daughter of William and Mary Doran Bryce

She was married in 1900 at Nichols, Ia., to Eugene Dean. His death occurred in 1946.

She leaves four sons, James Dean of Monmouth, Ill., John Dean of East Moline, Ill., Francis Dean of Brighton, Mich., and Howard Dean of Winterset; four daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Rainbow of Waterloo, Mrs. Ruth Steizman of Iowa City, Mrs. Dorothy Low of Cedar Rapids and Mrs. Mary Lauer of Ft. Dodge; four sisters; a brother; 20 grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held this Monday from St. Joseph’s Catholic church in Winterset, conducted by the pastor, the Rev. John Higgins. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
