MRS. WALTER COCHRAN BURIED AT MACKSBURG

Funeral services were held Nov. 24 from the Macksburg Methodist church for Mrs. Bertha M. Cochran of Winterset, whose death had occurred here on Nov. 21.

The Rev. Richard Mohr, pastor of Grace Baptist church in Winterset conducted the services. Burial was made in Moon cemetery at Macksburg.

Mrs. Cochran was a native of Henry county, where she was born Nov. 5, 1877, a daughter of Samuel and Cynthia Cook. In early life she came with her family to Union county, and later to Madison county.

As a young woman she attended Kansas Normal college, and then taught rural school in Iowa.

She was married to Walter L. Cochran on Nov. 29, 1899. as a young woman she was baptized in the Baptist church, later transferring to the Macksburg Methodist church.

Mrs. Cochran was 80 years of age at her death. She is survived by her husband; two daughters, Mrs. Marie Eyerly and Mrs. Helen Kingery, both of Madison county; two brothers, Lenard of Detroit Lakes and Allen of Osceola; five grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.

MACKSBURG--Mrs. Walter Cochran died Thursday of cancer in a nursing home at Winterset.

The funeral was held Sunday in the Macksburg Methodist church and burial was in the Moon cemetery. Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Cook and son of Detroit Lakes, Minn., were among the many from a distance who attended the funeral here. Another brother, Allan Cook of Osceola, Ia., also attended the funeral. The Macksburg Rebekah lodge prepared dinner for relatives of the deceased.
