FUNERAL MONDAY FOR E. J. CAMP

77-Year-Old Peru Farmer Died Last Friday at Home

Funeral services fro Ephraim J. Camp were held Monday, Aug. 5, at Madison Chapel church south of Peru.

Mr. Camp died last Friday at his home near Peru. He was 77 years of age, and had been in ill health for a number of years.

The son of Lemuel J. and Nancy Jane Camp, he was born Nov. 10, 1879 in Gage county, Nebraska, near Beatrice. At the age of 18, he came with his parents to Iowa, and lived on farms in Clarke and Madison county the remainder of his life.

On Sept. 20, 1911, he was united in marriage to Clara Kirk. As a young man he became a charter member of the Madison Chapel Church of Christ, under the pastorate of Rev. E. A. McKim.

Surviving are the wife, and the following children, Mrs. Burla Stephenson of Des Moines, Leonard J. Camp of Osceola, Clell E. Camp of Peru and Mrs. Waunita Siefkas of Weldon, Ia; nine grandchildren; three sisters, Susie Kirk of Lorimor, Grace Carter of Murray and Estella Kirk of St. Charles; and two brothers, Harvey L. Camp of Patterson and Martin J. Camp of St. Charles.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Clifford Ephriam and Calvin Benjamin, a sister, two brothers and two grandchildren.

Officiating at the service Monday afternoon was the Rev. Clayton Shepherd. Burial was in Union chapel.
