MRS. WATTS, 78, DIED ON NOV. 2

Requiem high mass was celebrated Monday morning at St. John's Catholic church in Des Moines for Mrs. Kate Agnes Watts, 78, a resident of Jefferson township for the past 12 years.

Mrs. Watts died at the Mercy hospital in Des Moines Nov. 2, following a two month's illness.

For the past 12 years she had made her home with a daughter, Mrs. John K. Kiernan south of Booneville.

Mrs. Watts was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cornelius McCauley, a pioneer Des Moines family. She attended Visitation parochial school in Des Moines.

She was a member of the St. Joseph's Rosary society, and a member of the Altar society of St. Patrick's church in the Lee township Irish settlement.

Surviving are three sons, Cleal T. Watts of Rochdale, Miss., Garner C. Watts of Van Meter and John C. Watts of Norwalk; three daughters, Mrs. Marie Maher of Mingo, Mrs. Katherine Mulvihill of Lee township and Mrs. Alice Kiernan of Jefferson township; 32 grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.

Officiating at the Requiem High Mass Monday morning was Father Barnard Mary, abbot of St. Gabriel's Monastary in Des Moines. Assisting was Father John J. Reynolds.

Burial was in St. Ambrose cemetery in Des Moines.
