Retired Farmer Had Lived in Madison County for 59 Years
Clyde H. Taylor, a resident of Walnut township for 59 years, died Monday, June 4, at Memorial hospital in Winterset. He was 75 years of age.
Mr. Taylor was a native of Lee county, where he was born May 31, 1876, a son of Henry and Abby Taylor. His active life was spent as a farmer near Peru. In recent years he had been retired.
He was married to Sarah M. Hogue on Nov. 28, 1897, at the home of her parents near Peru. In early life he was a member of the Methodist church, but later transferred his membership to the Church of God.
Surviving are his wife; two sons, Floyd Taylor of Portland, Ore., and Glenn Taylor at home; two granddaughters; and a brother, Charles L. Taylor of Oklahoma.
Funeral services were held this Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the Richard Funeral home in Winterset, in charge of the Rev. Francis Gough of Lorimor. Burial was made in the Peru cemetery.
