ROBERT SHARPLES DIES

Robert Sharples, 31, of Swathmore, Pennsylvania, died in a hospital there, July 9th with cerebral meningitis, after an illness of about a week. Mrs. Sharples was the former Miss Anna Berry of Winterset. It is stated that Mr. Sharples was admitted to the hospital on Tuesday, July 4th in a critical condition, and despite an operation on the next day, he failed to rally.

Mr. Sharples during the last session of the State Assembly was a secretary in the legislature. He was also editor and publisher of the newspaper at Swathmore. He is survived by his widow and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Sharples of Thorton, Pennsylvania. The funeral service was held Wednesday July 12th at the Swathmore Presbyterian church, with burial in that city.

Mr. Sharples was born in Council Bluffs, May 13, 1902 and attended Swathmore college.
