Thursday, March 16, 1933C. L. Buckton Dies In Pasadena Hospital
C. L. Buckton, Winterset resident who has been visiting southern California this winter, died Friday morning in a hospital at Pasadena, California. The word was received here Monday by N. E. Hollen in a letter from Mrs. Buckton's daughter, Mrs. J. A. Bowman of Glendale.
He had been ill with an ear infection for some time. Last week he was operated upon for mastoid and he did not regain consciousness.
Mr. Buckton had been a resident of Winterset for about ten years. For a number of years he managed the Hawkeye Lumber company here.

Charles Lawson Buckton died Saturday morning at the Pasadena hospital at Pasadena, California, after a weeks illness. Services were held at two o’clock Monday afternoon from the Little Church of the Flowers, Forest Lawn Memorial, at Glendale and burial was in the Glendale mausoleum.
Mr. Buckton was in the lumber business here a number of years, retiring after selling the business now known as the Hawkeye Lumber company, several years ago. He was engaged for a time in highway work, being located at different points in Iowa.
Mr. and Mrs. Buckton went to California early last winter, spending some time at Eagle Rock and going from there to Glendale. News of the death of Mr. Buckton was received from Mrs. J. A. Bowman, a daughter of Mrs. Buckton.
