Earlham, IowaClara B. Knox was born January 18, 1859 in Illinois and passed away March 26, 1948 at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, at the age of 89 years.
She made her home in the Bear Creek neighborhood near Earlham, until 1902 when she left this community with her husband and family.
Surviving are her two children, Lorena Rudolph, and Harold, also one grandchild Jane Rudolph Sudick and one great grandson, also surviving is one brother, Rolla R. Lutz of Washington, D. C.
Mrs. Knox cared for Jane when she was very young teaching her music and healping her with her life career.
She was devoted to her family and home and loved by her friends, neighbors, and nieces and nephews.
Services were conducted from the Welch Funeral home Wednesday afternoon. Rev. S. R. Overholser was in charge. Pall bearers were, Clyde Nolte, Lloyd Mendenhall, Ross Reynolds, Earl Clague, Claire Sawyers, and Russell Ralston. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Clague and Mr. and Mrs. Russell Ralston, accompanied by Mrs. Kenneth Allen, had charge of the music. Burial was in the Earlham cemetery.
