JENNIE ROGERS DIED AT NEWTON

Funeral Services Held Here Monday, Burial in Local Cemetery

Mrs. Jennie Rogers, member of a well known Winterset family died Thursday, July 3 at the Skift hospital in Newton. She was 76 years of age.

Mrs. Rogers was the former Jennie Moore, daughter of Anderson and Mary Duncan Moore and was born Jan. 20, 1876 in Madison county. Her entire life was spent in Madison county, except for the last three years with her daughter in Newton.

She was married March 16,1899 to A. R. Rogers of Winterset. They were the parents of eight children. Her husband died in 1944. One son died in infancy and a daughter, Mrs. Mary Smith in 1944.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Ruth Scott of Newton, Mrs. Helen Pattee of Portland, Ore. and Mrs. Hazel Smith of Macksburg; three sons, Chester, Raymond and Robert Rogers, all of Winterset; 17 grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held from the Richards Funeral home in Winterset, conducted by the Rev. Glenn Parrott, pastor of the Winterset Methodist church. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
