JOHN TRAVIS DIES AT AGE OF 77 YEARS

Funeral Services Sunday for Life-Long resident of County

John F. Travis, a life-long resident of Madison county, died Thursday, April 4, at the Mary Jones home near St. Charles. He was 77 years of age.

Mr. Travis spent his life on a farm near Peru. He was born there Jan. 7, 1880, a son of John and Alice Travis. He was married May 1, 1901, to Ella Wright. Her death occurred in 1920.

He was a member of the Peru Methodist church.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Goldie Seward of Peru and Mrs. Eva Nichols of Peru; and three sons, Emery Travis of Dallas Center, John Travis of Jefferson, and Raymond Travis of Des Moines.

Funeral services were held Sunday from the Kale Funeral home at Truro, conducted by the Rev. Dale Lockhart. Burial was made in the Peru cemetery.
