HOWARD R. MAULSBY, 31 BURIED AT PENN CENTER

Services for Howard R. Maulsby, 31, World War II navy veteran, was Friday at the McLaren Funeral home in West Des Moines. Burial was at the Penn Center cemetery.

Mr. Maulsby died Monday, July 12 at the Veterans hospital in Des Moines. He was wounded while in service.

Born in Redfield, he spent his boyhood at Earlham. In 1937 he moved to Chicago, Illinois, where he was employed at the union station.

Mr. Maulsby entered naval service in January, 1943, and spent two years in the South Pacific. He was wounded while in action aboard the U.S.S. Sarasota. He was discharged with the rank of seaman second class.
