WINTERSET WOMAN DIES AT 96 YEARS

Mrs. Lovina Parkins Was Life-Long Resident Of County

Mrs. Lovina F. Parkins died at the age of 96 years here Saturday Oct. 19, in a Winterset nursing home.

Mrs. Parkins had lived all her life in Madison county. She is a daughter of Daniel and Elizabeth Riegle. She was married Jan. 1, 1880, to Stephen Parkins, who preceded her in death.

She is survived by her five children, Mrs. Myrtle Craven of Winterset, Charles Parkins and Mrs. Eva Guiberson of Des Moines, Mrs. Nellie Johnson of Florida and Allie Parkins of Van Meter. She also leaves twenty-three grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday from Anderson’s home for funerals, with the Rev. Warren Hile, pastor of the Winterset Christian church, officiating. Burial was made in the Jefferson E.U.B. cemetery.
