PETER F. MURPHY DIES AT 78 YEARS

Peter F. Murphy, a native of the Irish settlement in Madison county, died Friday, Aug. 16 in the University hospital at Iowa City of bronchial pneumonia. He was 78 years of age.

Mr. Murphy was born and spent his early life in Madison county, but had lived in Des Moines for the past 35 years.

Surviving are two brothers, John E. Murphy and T. S. Murphy, both of Des Moines.

Funeral services were held this Tuesday from St. Patrick’s Catholic church in Lee township. Burial was made in the cemetery there.
