Winterset Man, 77 Years of Age, Dies at Des Moines Hospital
Earnest A. Johnson of Winterset, a life-time resident of Madison county, died Wednesday Aug. 26, at a Des Moines hospital. He was 77 years of age.
Mr. Johnson was a retired employee of the Chicago Rock Island and Pacific railroad.
He was born in this county Oct. 5, 1886, a son of Thomas and Harriet Cleveland Johnson. He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Hazel Johnson, a daughter, Mrs. Eldon Beem of Winterset; a grandson, Bruce Eldon Beem; and a brother, Charles Johnson of Hawkeye.
Funeral services were held Friday from the Wilson Funeral home in charge of Donald Houghton. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
