EMMA C. COOPER DIED HERE SUNDAY

Long-Time Resident Had Attained Advanced Age of 89 Years

Mrs. Emma A. Cooper, a long-time resident of this community died here Sunday, April 18, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Floyd V. Rehard. She was 89 years of age.

Mrs. Cooper was a native of New York, where she was born July 5, 1858, in Sandy Creek, Oswego county. She was married to Frank M. Minnick about 1880. They reared three children, a son and two daughters. Mr. Minnick died many years ago.

She was later married to William H. Cooper. He preceded her in death in 1938.

After the death of Mr. Cooper, she made her home at Creston with her son, Ed J. Minnick, until April 13, when she was brought to the home of her daughter in Winterset.

In addition to the son, Mr. Minnick of Creston, and the daughter, Mrs. Rehard of Winterset, she is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Nancy N. Rowe of Des Moines; three grandchildren; and one great granddaughter.

Funeral services were held this Tuesday from Anderson's home for funerals, in charge of the Rev. Howard Strong of the Winterset Presbyterian church. Burial was made in the Primitive Baptist cemetery near Winterset.
