FORMER RESIDENT OF LORIMOR PASSES

Isaac Reynolds Died Friday at Home of Daughter Near Swan

Isaac Reynolds, for 26 years a resident of near Lorimor, died last Friday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ernest Gardner, near Swan, Ia. He was 85 years old.

Mr. Reynolds was the son of Richard and Julia Reynolds, and was born August 11, 1852, near Warrenville, Ill. He was married on December 28, 1876, to Mary Ann Grover. For a number of years they lived in Lyon township, Cook county, Illinois, uniting there with the United Brethren church. In 1890 they moved to Corning, Ia. and since then this state had been their home.

From Corning they moved to near Lorimor, where Mrs. Reynolds died-----made his home with his daughter at Swan.

He is survived by a son, R. M. Reynolds of Ithasca, Neb., the daughter, Mrs. Gardner of Swan and a sister, Mrs. Bertha Hoskinson of Corning as well as three grandsons and a granddaughter.

Funeral services were held at Carlisle last Sunday at 11:30 a.m. with the Rev. C. E. Arnold of the Methodist church officiating, and at Barney at 2 p.m. with the Rev. H. L. Olmstead of the Winterset Church of Christ officiating. Burial was made beside the body of his wife in the Barney cemetery.

Isaac Reynolds

Isaac Perley Phineas Reynolds, son of Richard Leander Reynolds and Julia Reynolds, was born near Warrenville, Illinois, August 11, 1852, and died near Swan, Iowa November 19, 1937, aged 85 years.

He was one of a family of 10 children, a sister being the only one now living. He was married December 28, 1878, to Mary Ann Sylvester Grover. Two children were born to them.

The couple lived in Cook county, Illinois, a number of years where they became members of the Unoted Brethren church. In 1890 they moved to Corning, Iowa, spending the remainder of their lives in Iowa. For 26 years they lived on a farm near Lorimor. After the death of his wife six years ago, Mr. Reynolds had lived with a daughter new Swan.

He leaves his son R. M. Reynolds of Ithaca, Nebraska; his daughter Mrs. Everett Gardner of Swan; a sister, Mrs. Bertha Hoskinson of Corning; and four grandchildren.

Services were held at Carlisle Sunday morning at 11:30, the Rev. C. E. Arnold of the Methodist church in charge. At Barney other services were held at two o’clock that afternoon at the Church of Christ by the Rev. H. L. Olmstead. Burial was in the Barney cemetery.
