J. R. Silliman died at his home in Scott township yeaterday and was buried in the Winterset cemetery today. Mr. Silliman was one of the early settlers of this county and a man of upright character and had the esteem of a large circle of friends.

J. R. Silliman Dead.

About four o’clock the evening of 4th occurred the death of J. R. Silliman at his home near East Peru. Mr. Silliman was an old and prominent citizen, father of ex-Sheriff Silliman and held in much respect by his neighbors and all who knew him. The funeral occurred this afternoon.

Peru

Death has entered another home and taken Father J. R. Silliman. He was an old resident here, and well respected. He leaves a family of six grown children, four sons and two daughters. The children have the sympathy of their many friends in their bereavement.
