ARTHUR MADISON RITES HELD HERE SATURDAY

Former Resident's Death Occurred April 13 at Waterloo

Funeral services for Arthur Madison, a well known Winterset resident for many years, were conducted from the Ramsey-Richards funeral home here last Saturday, in charge of the Rev. Howard Strong, pastor of the Winterset Presbyterian church. Burial was made in Mt. Zion cemetery near Prescott.

Mr. Madison's death, which occurred Tuesday, April 13, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. William Frickson of Waterloo, was reported in the Madisonian last week. His death came suddenly and was caused by a heart attack. He was 72 years of age.

Mr. Madison was born Feb. 3, 1876, near Carl, Ia., the son of Charles and Susannah Madison. He was married to Ethel Johnston Dec. 9, 1900. Her death occurred in 1926.

His early life was spent at Prescott. He moved to Sigourney in 1918, and from there to Waterloo in 1919. In 1941 he moved to Winterset with his son and family, and he engaged in the garage and blacksmith business here until 1945.

Surviving are his son, Russel C. Madison of Winterset; two daughters, Mrs. Frickson of Waterloo, and Mrs. Lloyd Jeffryes of Boone; and a twin brother, Luther Madison of Mt. Ayr.
