Etna Bennett was born April 19, 1867 to Joshua and Nancy Bennett, in Madison county, Iowa, and passed away March 4, 1957 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Minnie B. Hall in Earlham. She was one of eight children. Two sisters and three brothers preceded her in death.
She was married to Rodolph Haxton September 23, 1884. to this union six children were born. Her husband preceded her in death December 18, 1930. She is survived by all six children, Alta M. Larkin of McAllen, Texas; Minnie B. Hall of Earlham; Gertrude E. Compton of Cooper, Iowa; A. Grace Clarke of Rocky, Oklahoma; George H. Haxton of Yale, Oklahoma; Charles R. Haxton of Elk Grove, California. Also 23 grandchildren, 57 great grandchildren, 23 great great grandchildren. Also a sister, Laura Bast of Stuart, and a brother, Luther Bennett of Wisner, Idaho. A number of nieces and nephews and many friends.
She was a member of the Presbyterian church of Gotebo, Oklahoma.

Page 6MRS. ETNA HAXTON BURIED AT EARLHAM
Funeral services for Mrs. Etna Haxton of Earlham were held last Wednesday from the Earlham Church of Christ, conducted by the pastor, the Rev. Royal B. Woodley. Burial was made in the Earlham cemetery.
Mrs. Haxton’s death had occurred March 4 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Minnie Hall, in Earlham. She was 90 years of age.
Mrs. Haxton was born on a farm west of Earlham on April 19, 1867, a daughter of Joshua and Nancy Bennett. With the exception of a few years in Oklahoma and Missouri, her life was spent in Madison county. She was a member of the Presbyterian church at Gotebo, Oklahoma.
She was married to Rudolph Haxton on Sept. 23, 1884. His death occurred in 1930.
She leaves four daughters, Mrs. Alta Larkin of Texas, Mrs. Hall of Earlham, Mrs. Gertrude Compton of Cooper and Mrs. Grace Clark of Roclay, Okla.; two sons, George Haxton of Yale, Okla., and Charles Haxton of Elk Grove, Calif.
