MRS. JETTIE HESS DIES AT 85 YEARS
Had Been Resident of Elm Grove community since 1904

Mrs. Jettie Hess, a resident of the Elm Grove community since 1904, died Thursday, Jan. 24, at the Madison county Memorial hospital in Winterset. She was 85 years of age.

Mrs. Hess was a native of Jasper county, where she was born Feb. 1, 1871. She was married Feb. 11, 1891, to Edward Hess, who preceded her in death in 1954.

She is survived by a son, Arnold Hess of Afton; four daughters, Mrs. Cassie Ogburn of West Des Moines, Mrs. Mabel Clark of Truro, Mrs. Myrtle Oglesbee, and Mrs. Cleta Oglesbee both of Winterset. She also leaves 35 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Sunday from the St. Charles Methodist church, conducted by the Rev. Arthur Weed and the Rev. Mr. Pine. Burial was made in the King cemetery.
