Funeral Rites and Burial Held Last Sunday At Peru
Leonard A. Hamand of Gainesville, Mo., died at his home there last Thursday, Nov. 28, at the age of 72 years. He had been in ill health several years.
Mr. Hamand had lived most of his life in Peru. He came there in early life with his parents, Mrs. And Mrs. S. B. Hamand, living in Peru until about 10 years ago when he moved to Missouri.
He is survived by his wife, the former Versa Hiatt of Peru; five children, Mrs. Velma Williams of Davis City, Leo Hamand of Peru, Mrs. Esther Brown of Powersville, Mo., Mrs. Louise Showers of St. Charles, and Mrs. Reba Thompson of Mitchellville; 14 grandchildren, and several great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday from the Peru Methodist church, in charge of the Rev. Forrest Davis, assisted by members of the Masonic lodge. Burial was made in the Peru cemetery.
