MRS ORAH GRISWOLD BURIED AT MACKSBURG

Funeral services were held July 10 in Macksburg for Mrs. Leonard Griswold a former resident of that community, whose death had occurred July 7 in Des Moines. The Rev. E. K. Parrott, pastor of the Macksburg Methodist church officiated at the services. Burial was made in the Moon cemetery.

Mrs. Griswold was the former Orah A. Whitworth, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Whitworth. She was born at Macksburg on Aug. 17, 1891, and was 65 years of age at her death.

In 1908 she was married to Fred Hudson. They adopted an infant nephew in 1913. Her husband died in 1918. After his death she moved to Macksburg, and then to a farm northwest of Winterset.

She was married for the second time, in 1932, to Leonard Griswold. They lived in Winterset for several years, then moved to Des Moines in 1942.

Just four days prior to her death, her son, James died. She is survived by her husband; a granddaughter; two great grandsons; two brothers, Elva Whitworth of Dallas Center and Earl Whitworth of Macksburg; and two half sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Hall of Grimes and Mrs. Lee Cochran of Lorimor.
