DEATH ON MONDAY TERMED SUICIDE

Body of Iver Schoenenberger Found Beside Car on By-Road

Iver Schoenenberger, a well known Madison county farmer for many years, died of a bullet wound in the head Monday afternoon. His body was found beside his automobile, which had been parked on a by-road at the northeast edge of Winterset. A heavy caliber rifle was by his side.

A coroner's investigation was held, with Justice D. M. Griswold acting in the absence of Coroner Paul Eggleston. Following the investigation, the authorities termed the death a suicide and said that no inquest would be necessary.

Mr. Schoenenberger left no note, but is known to have been in ill health recently. He retired from farming more than a year ago because of his health, and had returned recently from an extended stay in California. He was 58 years of age.

He is survived by his wife, of Winterset; and two sons, Charles of California and Robert of Texas.

Funeral services will be held this Thursday at 2:30 p.m. from Anderson's home for funerals, in charge of the Rev. G. L. Hufstader, pastor of the Winterset Methodist church. Burial will be made in the Winterset cemetery.
