MRS. W. R. STEPHENSON SUCCUMBS AT 78 YEARS

Life-Long Resident Dies As Result of Stroke Last Thursday

Mrs. W. R. Stephenson, a life-long resident of Madison county, died Thursday, Sept. 2, after suffering a stroke early that morning, at the age of 78 years.

Mary Rose Stephenson was born in Madison county, April 28, 1870, the daughter of Francis and Rachel Villier. She was married to William R. Stephenson, Sept. 28, 1888.

They were the parents of eight children, all of whom are living. They are: Mrs. Albert Hoisington of Valley Park, Mo., John Stephenson of Peru, Elmer Stephenson of Winterset, Frank Stephenson of Indianola, William Stephenson, Jr., and Mrs. Dempsey Wilson of Winterset, Mrs. Glenn Wilson of Booneville, and Mrs. Lloyd Ridout of Winterset. She also leaves a sister, Mrs. Ida Smith of Winterset; a brother, Frank Villier of Hudson, S. Dak.; 25 grandchildren; and 22 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday from the Richards Funeral home in charge of the Rev. F. Donald Worden. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
