Wednesday, October 30, 1957ALEX BARNES, AGED 83, DIED LAST THURSDAY
Alex Barnes, a resident of Madison county for 30 years, died here last Thursday, Oct. 24, at Madison county Memorial hospital. He was 83 years of age.
Mr. Barnes was a native of Illinois, where he was born in Peoria county on May 4, 1874, a son of Lindsay and Maria Garrison Barnes. Since he came to Madison county he had been employed as a farm hand.
Nearest surviving relative is a nephew, Lindsay Jobson, of Winterset.
Burial was made Saturday in the Winterset cemetery, with graveside services conducted by the Rev. Warren Hile, pastor of the Winterset Christian church.
