MRS. GEORGE GIBSON DIED HERE SUNDAY

Stricken Suddenly at Home of Daughter, Mrs. Earl Gilbrech

Mrs. George Gibson, a resident of Madison county for 45 years, died Sunday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Earl Gilbrech of Winterset. She was 88 years of age. Her death came suddenly.

Mrs. Gibson was the former Susie Barnes, daughter of Franklin and Elizabeth Barnes, and was born Jan. 14,1860, in Muscatine county. She was married Feb. 5, 1880 to George W. Gibson. Their home was in the Truro community before moving to Winterset many years ago. Mr. Gibson died 13 years ago.

Mrs. Gibson is survived by four children, Ralph Gibson of Murray, Mrs. Nelle Knight of Long Beach, Calif., Mrs. Blanche Gilbrech, and Mrs. Clarinda Parkins of Des Moines.

For many years she was affiliated with the women's Bible class of the Methodist church, of which she was a life-long member.

Funeral services were held Tuesday from the Richards funeral home, in charge of the Rev. G. L. Hufstader, pastor of the Winterset Methodist church. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
