RUBE L. WIGHT DIES TUESDAY AFTERNOON

Word was received here this morning of the death of Rube L. Wight, a former resident of Harrison township in Adair county. Mr. Wight, who was 79 years of age, died Tuesday afternoon, October 10th, at his home in Elmhurst, Illinois.

Funeral services will be held at the Bickford funeral home in Greenfield, Friday, October 13th, at 2 o'clock.

The Wights resided for many years on the farm near the Adair-Madison county line; they had also lived in Lincoln, Nebraska, but since this spring had resided in Elmhurst.

He is survived by his wife, the former Janie Johnson of Adair county, a daughter Helen, who has resided with them since the death of her husband, Tom Striker, an army officer in Japan, and a son Roland Wight of Chicago. He also leaves a number of nieces and nephews, four of whom reside in this county: George, Edgar and Eugene Drake, and Mrs. Worth Deets.
